You face any number of challenges in marine surveying. Tidal height
variations, system integration issues, distance from land and a survey area that
you can't always see. Your ability to rapidly carry out a marine survey can be
compromised by anything from equipment integration problems to working at night
or in foggy conditions. Whether it's surveying a waterway for charting purposes
or an environmental survey, a proven Trimble system can provide you with the
tools to position you for success.
Trimble offers a range of high-precision centimeter level (RTK) and sub-meter (DGPS)
positioning solutions which together with other marine sensors can be integrated
with the NavPro Navigation Software by Communication Technology.
RTK
The RTK
Advantage provides centimeter horizontal and vertical positioning
accuracies. Using RTK requires a source of satellite corrections such as
an RTK base station. A Trimble RTK system can replace a radio tide gauge
for real-time tide and heave measurement, and a survey grade Gyro
compass for precision heading. |
 | Trimble SPS551 Modular GPS Receiver
The Trimble® SPS551 Modular GPS Receiver ideal for
real-time marine construction use, in-vehicle site supervisor
operations, or as a sub-meter DGPS base station. This receiver lets
you conduct real-time differential surveys and navigation without a
base station when using the OmniSTAR™ XP/HP subscription services
(over land masses) or in areas of SBAS (WAAS/EGNOS) coverage.
For DGPS operation the optional internal transmit and receive radio
and the internal battery make this a truly portable base station and
rover combination. The Trimble SPS551 GPS Receiver can also be used
with a variety of external Trimble or 3rd party radios you may already
own to reduce your investment of time and money with existing
infrastructure.

 | Trimble SPS651
Modular GPS Receiver
The Trimble® SPS651 Modular GPS Receiver is the receiver of
choice for a construction supervisor's truck -- where cost-effective
real-time positioning with precise vertical measurement is required.
With 10cm (location) horizontal accuracy and 2cm (precise) vertical
accuracy, contractors can be confident knowing they are getting the
right positioning tool at the right price.
The SPS651 receiver can operate in all Location GPS modes, including
Satellite Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS), DGPS, OmniSTAR (VBS, XP,
and HP services), and Location RTK mode.
It can also be upgraded to track the GLONASS satellite constellation
signals - allowing it to operate in areas with obstructed sky
visibility or during times of limited GPS availability.
Modularity allows the flexibility to mount the receiver and GPS
antenna in a variety of ways, example on a pole, backpack, site
vehicle, light machinery or marine vessel. The receiver can be mounted
in an accessible location where it is easy to configure and is secure
from theft and weather, while the antenna can be mounted in a location
that provides clear line of sight to sky and that reduces the
potential for multipath.
Features and Benefits
- 2cm vertical and 10cm
horizontal accuracy in Location RTK mode - provides the vertical
precision of an RTK rover at a reduced cost
- Tracks L1 and L2 GPS signals
- Upgradeable to track L2C and GLONASS
signals for increased performance in areas of obstructed sky view for
GPS-only
- Uses the industry-leading Trimble RTK
Engine for real-time corrections
- 1 Pulse Per Second (1PPS) output for
precise synchronization with other positioning equipment such as
marine multibeam echosounders
- Operational in all Location GPS modes,
including Satellite Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS), DGPS, OmniSTAR
(VBS, XP, and HP services, subscription required), and higher accuracy
Location RTK mode
- Can be used with an external radio
modem, an internal 900 MHz radio for CMR corrections or an internal
450 MHz radio for transmit/receive of RTCM corrections
- Modular design allows mounting
flexibility for greater accuracy and added security
- Add on the Trimble SPS551H GPS Receiver
for precise heading output
Applications
- Construction site supervisor
operations
- Pole and ATV-mounted rover applications
- Dredging operations
- Harbor construction
- Land reclamation

 | Trimble SPS751
and SPS851 Modular GPS Receiver
Trimble® SPS751 and SPS851 Modular GPS Receivers are ideal
for semi-permanent or permanent setups, marine-based applications, as
well as construction rover applications. The antennas can also be
mounted in a marine vessel or on a site supervisor's vehicle.
The Trimble SPS751 and SPS851 receivers combine the radio and GPS
receiver in a single housing. This allows contractors to secure the
majority of their investment inside a site trailer or carrying case,
protected from the elements and/or theft, leaving only the antennas
outside.
Available in a range of options to suit your individual applications,
flexibility and performance requirements, versatile Trimble GPS
receivers are a future-proof investment. The receivers are designed to
use all currently available satellite signals including L1, L2 and the
GPS modernized L2C code. The SPS851 receiver can be upgraded with
GLONASS and L5 GPS signals to optimize performance in areas of tough
GPS-only conditions and maximize your investment well into the future.

DGPS
Provides sub
meter horizontal position accuracies. DGPS requires a source of
satellite corrections such as IALA Beacon, EGNOS, WAAS, proprietary SBAS
or DGPS Base station transmissions. A Trimble DGPS receiver can be
combined with HYDROpro Navigation and many industry standard
echosounders and magnetometers for surveying systems. |
 | Trimble® DSM™ 232 modular GPS Receiver
The Trimble® DSM™ 232 modular GPS receiver is your ideal
solution for dynamic marine positioning tasks such as dredging in
ports and navigation channels where it is integrated as the
positioning sensor component. The Trimble DSM 232 receiver is capable
of sub-meter, decimeter and centimeter accuracy and provides a
complete range of GPS (Global Positioning System) positioning
techniques including:
- Beacon
- DGPS
- Omnistar
- SBAS
- RTK
The Trimble DSM 232 GPS receiver is also easy to upgrade to increase
performance as your positioning requirements change.
The entry-level Trimble DSM 232 is a high-performance, sub-meter GPS
receiver that includes a combined beacon, GPS and satellite
differential correction antenna. It uses free public (MSK beacon or
Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) corrections such as WAAS)
or subscription-based private differential correction services (OmniSTAR
VBS) to calculate sub-meter positions in real time.
The Trimble DSM 232 GPS receiver is also available in two
dual-frequency models to use the accurate satellite differential based
OmniSTAR1 XP/HP correction services delivering decimeter
level accuracy, or to use the Real Time Kinematic (RTK) capabilities
for centimeter accuracy in three dimensions.
In situations where your applications may change over time, Trimble
can supply an upgradeable model of the Trimble DSM 232 sub-meter
receiver so you can upgrade the receiver to greater accuracies at a
later stage.
