DCR - Doppler Current Recorder

The DCR – Doppler Current Recorder is a rugged, true vector averaging sensor for measuring current speed and direction in water that employs the same transducer head used in Aanderaa’s RCM-9 current meters, but adding ease of use and improved capabilities & versatility to the system.

The DCR can record data also from the best available sensors from the best manufacturers in the world for each specific application. When you need to measure parameters in your moving water with the highest possible quality and reliability, the DCR is the solution.

Transducer Head Features

  Rugged, Small Size
  High Accuracy
  Insensitive to fouling

Improvements

Setup Easy & User-friendly RS-232 commands
Data Download Easy & User-friendly RS-232 serial data output, no special memory reader needed
Data format NMEA-style ASCII files
Memory Huge internal non-volatile memory card with capacity up to 512 MB
Configuration The transducer head can be oriented downward to make measures close to the bottom
Aux Sensors The DCR can interface the best available sensors of the best manufacturers

The best available quality for each measured parameter

A DCR with auxiliary sensors combines all the instruments you might want to deploy in one single instrument. Data are always perfectly synchronized and are stored in one single memory.

In one single piece of equipment you can have RCM9-quality data for single point currents, SeaBird-quality data for CTD, pH, ORP & DO, Turner-quality data for fluorescence, Sequoia-quality data for suspended particles, and so on.
